ACT! V16 SERVICE PACK 1 IS NOW AVAILABLE

Act! v16 Service Pack 1 was released on 6 May 2014 and can be downloaded from here.  NB: The downloads are in the Updates section, below Hotfixes.

The Service Pack includes a number of enhances and bug fixes to Act! v16.  For a list of the issues fixed in SP1, see 36573

The major improvement in Act! v16 SP1 is in the Act! eMarketing module.  This has had a complete rewrite and now features a much improved HTML template editor.  It comes with 100 pre-formatted templates, and now works with ACT! Premium for Web as well as the desktop versions of Act!.  See more..

Frequently Asked Questions Q. What is Act! v16 Service Pack 1?

This unique release is actually a Service Pack and a Feature Pack rolled into one. The release contains typical Service Pack elements such as bug fixes and product enhancements, but also enables Act! emarketing as a new feature along with Business Care exclusive benefits.

Q. When is Service Pack 1 available?

Our English language release of Service Pack 1 will be publicly available on Tuesday 6 May 2014. 

Q. Who is entitled to this release?

All Act! v16 users (English language install locales) are entitled to download and install this release. Customers are not required to be on Business Care, however Business Care subscribers will receive exclusive discounts on our new Act! emarketing service.

Q. How can customers access this update?

Our full product downloads for Pro and Premium will be updated at launch. These will provide new customers with Act! v16.1. Region-specific installation files, and downloads just containing the Service Pack 1 update will also be made available from our Download Center and related support articles.

Q. Will this be an automatic update?

No - this update will not initially be available to install via the Act! Update function. We will however review this one month following release.

Q. Do I need to install Service Pack 1 on all PCs using a shared database?

No. Installing Service Pack 1 will not prevent users without this update installed from accessing a shared database. Due to the improvements and fixes in this release however, we recommend it is installed to all PC's. Please note that for synchronization, Service Pack 1 must be installed on all parent and remote installations of Act!. 

Q. When will Service Pack 1 be available for French and German languages?

We are currently working on the translation and testing of Service Pack 1 for these languages, and are targeting release for late June. Official release dates will be communicated in early June.

Q. What issues are addressed in Service Pack 1?

Q. Which currencies can customers purchase Act! emarketing in?

Currently, our purchase process for Act! emarketing only supports US Dollars, however we are aiming to make Euros and British Pounds available later in May 2014.
